The Landwehrbach and its tributaries are part of the Emscher sewage system. The Landwehrbach joint venture comprising the companies Eiffage Infra-Nordwest GmbH, Eiffage Infra-Vortriebstechnik GmbH (now Eiffage Infra-Spezialtiefbau GmbH) and Smet Tunnelling N.V. was commissioned by the Emschergenossenschaft with ecologically redeveloping the Landwehrbach. In future, surface water is to flow in near-natural rivers and waste water discharged in newly constructed parallel pipelines.
• 7 x start and finish pits to a depth of 16 m as intersected bored pile wall
• 2,150 m² of bored pile wall shoring for the structure of a sewer with storage capacity and overflow with lower-lying discharge, 4x stiffened, depth 17 m
• 370 m² of sheet pile shoring with shotcrete infill
• 520 m² of sheet pile shoring with wood infill
• 1 lowering shaft DN 3200, depth 12.0 m
• 515 m of pipe jacking DN 2200
• 370 m of pipe jacking DN 2400 using roadheader and compressed air-protected working face
• 530 m of pipe jacking DN 600 to DN 1200 by means of a full section machine and flushing conveyance
• 1,700 m³ of reinforced concrete work
